Evaluated the industry needs for forensic data tools and developed a service oriented architecture to support hot swappable distributed system components and a set of extensive libraries for forensically sound manipulation of data over the network. Included in the libraries is functionality to support; File paths in excess of 30k characters which most applications would error on, MD5 and CRC hashing of unstructured data such as emails as opposed to files. Created a file copy product that outperformed robo-copy by 30% in speed and proved the application in a forensic lab to be sound for legal EDD collection use. Created a build automation tool unifying Visual SourceSafe, Visual Studio 2008 and InstallShield resulting in more regular build/testing cycles including release notes from the bug tracking system which improved the cohesiveness of the development and testing teams dramatically. Designed a web based portal application to consume the distributed service oriented architecture by way of a messaging service which provided search, saved search, review, export and administration features over the collected data.

Implemented and enforced coding standards which unified the appearance and simplified to maintainability of the code base for all products. Produced training videos and provided face-to-face training on IIS, InstallShield, and our own proprietary globalization tools; for company developers which, increased productivity thought the development department by increasing each developers “focus” time. Improved the backend communications architecture by enabling real-time component communications through ha generic and universal socket interface which eliminated the end-user waiting on an operation to propagate the system. Developed several UI controls using GDI+ to enhance the end-user experience.

Guided a migration from VB.Net to C# and educated my coworkers on the indifference of the languages to the technology eliminating the prejudice between which skills set to hire. Architected the SharePoint 2003 deployment to a large server farm of 16 servers with over a Terabyte of storage which replaced the entire organizations intranet and unified document storage, access and control company wide. Mentored the team on web part development and deployment while providing them with a web part that would install other web parts for them thereby eliminating the confusion of web part deployment across multiple servers. Created several internal applications to facilitate the migration to SharePoint including an application supporting drag-n-drop document migration into SharePoint preserving the original dates and author names which removed the necessity for a IT staff member to migrate the data. Additionally I developed a service to maintain regular synchronization of the companies active directory structure with the users and groups inside of SharePoint eliminating the need for manual manipulation of the groups by an IT staff member.
